Okay, the last theme had too big fonts and widgets. And that background really started to irritate me. Plus, everyone needs a little T&A.... or just T..... whatever... Basically, I was apt-get dist-upgrade'ing and took this screenie to memorialize it. Whoopity doo!

New Fluxbox theme, and that's about it. I'm also trying the new Fluxbox developmental branch. I really don't like that I can't have my tabs external anymore (it's embedded or nothin') but I may get used to it. Or, they may put it back in due to popular demand (there's been a lot of groussing about it). Or I may just switch WMs again. Maybe I'll switch to Gnome or KDE... HAHAH... Just kidding ;-)

In IRC meeting with OSEF folks. Basically that was it. Oh, there's also my favorite Teen Titan on there. Uh, and I'm checking out the new OSEF website powered by Drupal.

THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED! Ahh, the ever beating pulse of the web that is my screenshot page. There's been a new homage to Gil Scott-Heron's classic prose that's circling the web. It has something to do with the internet... but whatever. My preferences with these things almost always is for the original. So in protest to this "homage", I've decked out my desktop in Gil. BTW, the background image is a custom one I made from some image floating around the net of Gil Scott-Heron. Basically, I tool this crappy little 200x200 image, blew it up to my desktop's size, and passed it through some custom gradient maps in the Gimp. You can get the image in my images section here.

Okay, so I think I've become kind of boring. Afterall, I've been using the same WM (IceWM) and the same theme (Tin) for over a year! Is this a mid-life crisis? (Maybe, but if so, I'll be having a lot of them) Whatever it is, today I decided to try out Fluxbox instead. Here's my screenshot, isn't it colorfull? Will I keep it? Hmmm... Idunno... I really do like IceWM/Tin.... Only time will tell ;-)

Just working on some new stamps for TuxPaint (which is part of Tux4Kids. These images can be found in the images module over in Tux4Kids' CVS (you can also grab nightly snapshots here). I'm also listening to Parliament, and chatting with Jake. BTW, this actually isn't a new desktop over the last several ones. The background image is actually in Konsole (which is running fullscreen and sticky to give me my terminal as a background image. Why would I want this? Take a look at this thread. (And yes, that is Liv Tyler... how something so repugnant can spawn something so lovely is beyond me...)

Work Desktop Screenshots

11-14-03

Well, my work machine is still Windows XP. Urgh, I know. But hey, my job is Windows integration (because we're primarily a *nix house) and I do, technically, work with many *nix machines. And I do need to make sure that the Win32 machines play nice- What better way to do that than make it my primary desktop... *Sigh*... Okay, I'm getting sick of it. Anyway... you can see I'm doing my damnedest to make this XP box behave like a *nix box. It's got CYGWIN and MSYS (I believe in overkill). It's running VNC to other machines, and it's got all the sloppy-mouse-focus I can muster. Anyway... Still wish it was true Linux (Debian, preferably) and running Fluxbox...
