UNIX02/Networking Configuration

A classic tool for configuration of networking under Red Hat Linux is the Red Hat netconfig tool. While it has been replaced by many newer graphical tools, you may not have reasonable access to those tools.

For a better understanding of how Linux client networking works internally, including those things which most Linux distributions do automatically for you, take a look at this

From a command prompt, issue the netconfig command

 sam@rygel:~$ netconfig

you will get an ncurses-based interface which looks like this:

Click on "Yes" and you will come to this screen:

where you can enter in the apropriate networking settings for your client.
