UNIX01/Schedule A System Event

Classnotes | UNIX01 | RecentChanges | Preferences

Our previous scheduled events are not always guaranteed to run when we desire. The at command which runs the "treereset.sh" shell script is only good for a finite number of recurrances, the mirror scripts from the last project will only run if the system is online when they are supposed to run. We want these scripts to run with more regularity.

We want the "treereset.sh" script to run everyday, because there simply cannot be a time when the permissions for the tree we set up in "/Create A Simple Tree" are incorrect.

We also want the mirror_1deep script to run every week, because this simple 1-level deep mirror must happen or else it's our job.

Finally, we want the mirror_3deep script to run every single month, because we must have a more complete backup of the website that occurs every month.

Using the Anacron directories we have just discussed, set up these three scripts to run as detailed.
