LDAP01/Create A Simple LDIF

You work for Odyssey, INC., and have recently been charged with creating a company Directory. You have decided to use LDAP. Right now, all your managers want is a simple phonebook directory which lists all the contact information for those in your company, and which is searchable from their desktop systems. Later on, you are planning on integrating this information into your various authentication and other servers to give yourself a common place to store these types of information.

You must create the initial, rough-draft LDIF file defining the structure and membership of the company you work for. You will later on use this file to populate your test-case LDAP server. You recognize that, at present, this setup may be rough. However, it provides you with a good starting point which you can build upon later.

The organization you work for has three main offices: PR, Sales and Support. You also have two classes of employees: Managers and Grunts. See the discussion on page 63 about "deep v. wide" directories.
